Was listening to Monica Crowley the other day and she read this incredible story from inside Iran. Not sure how true it is, but seriously she's never steered me wrong before! With all that is going on now, I truly believe this to be a true sentiment. Pray for these people that they find a path to true Democracy. We may be witnessing either a civil revolution for FREEDOM or brutal Tyranny.
Despite the Islamic Republic's best attempts to shut down communications with the outside world, the demonstrators are using social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to signal each other, organize, and keep their morale up. One of these messages found its way out of Tabriz, Iran to me. I reprint it here so you can feel the passion and the dedication of the demonstrators for yourself:
"We have called for a nationwide strike with the aim to cripple the regime. They are slaughtering us, but we aim to finish this job here and now. There is no going back now. Don't make a mistake about it, this is a move to finish the regime.
This is a fight for Regime Change in Iran.
By the way Moussavi is no Moderate or reformist either. You Americans are interesting people. Get with the program - Moussavi is the means we used as an excuse to tear the regime apart.
Regime's Military, Pasdaran and even Basiji's are leaving the regime. Yesterday several high ranking officers from Pasdaran were arrested for announcing they will not fight the will of the people.
The regime is using non-Iranian, masked Arab speaking thugs such as Palestinian, Syrian, Hamas members and even Al-Qaeda to stand up to us because they don;t trust their own military anymore. We have been able to arrest several masked Arab militia thus far and non are able to speak Farsi (Persian).
Where are the Human Rights Organizations today? Where is the President of United States in all this? Where are tough sanctions? This is the time. If President Obama thinks Ahamadinejad or Moussavi are coming back he can wait for their return another 100 years. It will not happen.
The President of the United States seems to suggest that his apology speech to Islamo-fascist started all this in Iran? He couldn't be more wrong. His speech was designed to make friends with these thugs in Tehran. We don't want to be friends with Pre-Historic Islamic thugs we want them out of our lives. You might want to tell your President.
We want to thank all our American brothers and sisters on the Internet (e.g. Twitter, etc.). Their show of moral support has been heard in Iran and has given us great moral energy to carry on this dangerous mission toward Freedom.
One day when we are free we will come to America just to hug them and tell them sorry for 1979 Hostage Crisis - and today we are taking care of those who took your people hostage for 444 days and us for almost 30 years.
We will not surrender until final and total victory. Today, Moussavi asked the people not to rally. Moussavi can go to hell. This is not his fight, this is not about him - this is our fight and is about our future and we will finish the job. This regime is going down no matter the cost.
As President Bush once said: "Democracy is on the March."; certainly in Iran that is the case today.
We are taking our country back from Islamo-fascists. And we are not asking for your kids to come here and fight our fight for us and die for our cause. But, we are asking to report the brutality of the regime and we call on all Human Rights organizations to break their silence."
